Job Description

  • Manage clinical caseload and provide medical expertise in Aviation Medicine to ensure best service to air crew compliant with regulatory standards and international best practice.
  • Accountabilities
  • Provide specialized care in accordance with HAAD rules and Civil Aviation regulations to ensure high-quality care delivery and determine fit-to-fly conditions
  • Respond and handle medical emergencies in the Medical Centre clinical area providing required medical care to ensure patient health and safety
  • Participate in review and planning activities relevant to specialist services in Medical Centre to increase operational efficiency
  • Participate in medical audits as required by Health Authorities, Aviation and related Authorities for licensing requirements to ensure full compliance. 
  • Collect and analyse data on provided specialist services to report main insights to management
  • Assist in formulation of policies and procedures and prepare directives governing aviation medicine and preventative medicine issues to ensure consistency in provided services and alignment to regulations
  • Develop clinical care pathways with strategic healthcare provider partners to ensure seamless service for air crew
  • Provide general medicine consultations when needed 


Qualifications

  • Minimum Diploma (2 years or more) in Medicine with post-graduation qualification in Aviation Medicine field from institution recognized by the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi;
  • Obtain a license from HAAD to practice within the specialty.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience within relevant field overall; Minimum of 5 years of work experience in aviation medicine specialty in health clinical/hospital since gaining higher qualification.
  • High degree of awareness and understanding of HAAD/GCAA regulations and standards.
